Could you change a life? Mentor recruitment now open.

Trailblazers Mentoring are delighted to announce that we’re recruiting for a new intake of volunteer mentors to join our team this Spring across all of our projects.

Founded in 1998, Trailblazers provide ‘through the gate’ support to young offenders who wish to turn their lives around. We match our volunteer mentors on a one-to-one basis with a mentee who is due for release within the next six months. Through weekly mentoring sessions inside the prison, our mentors help guide our mentees through a programme of bespoke support to prepare them to return to the community. Once released, you will continue to support your mentee in engaging with probation, applying for benefits, and finding housing, training and job opportunities.

“Do it and get involved. You can really make a difference to an individual and help them change their life completely.”

We are proud to say that our mentees have a reoffending rate of just 9% compared to the national average of 38% – but behind every success story is an individual, supportive relationship that helps our mentees rebuild relationships with friends and family, improve their employment prospects, and inspire new futures.

If you think you could help a mentee turn their life around, please read the full Volunteer Mentor Role Description and Person Specification:
